Levels & XP
Members earn XP by chatting and unlock roles along the way.
On most servers, nothing sets apart the member who has shown up every day for a year from someone who joined yesterday. Your regulars never get rewarded, and newcomers have no reason to come back. Levels & XP counts messages, levels your members up and hands out roles as they go.

What it’s for
Runs on its own
No panel to set up, no message to write. As soon as the module is on, the bot starts counting.
Roles worth earning
One role at level 5, another at level 20. Your regulars stand out at a glance in the member list.
A leaderboard that motivates
Everyone can check their rank and the server’s top 10 with a single command.
How it works
Open the module
In your dashboard, open Levels & XP. It starts with settings that already work: 15 to 25 XP per message, and a one-minute cooldown between gains.
Create your tiers
A level number and the role to give. Add as many tiers as you like.
Pick where it’s announced
In the channel where the member just spoke, or in a dedicated channel.
Your members level up
They chat, earn XP, the bot announces the level-up and gives the role. Nothing left for you to do.
Settings
- Minimum XP
- The smallest XP gain for a message. 15 by default.
- Maximum XP
- The largest gain. 25 by default. For each message, the bot picks a random amount between the minimum and the maximum.
- Cooldown between 2 gains
- In seconds. During the cooldown, further messages earn nothing, so nobody can farm XP by posting twenty lines in a row.
- Level-up announcement
- Turn on or off the message the bot sends when someone reaches a new level.
- Announcement channel
- Where the announcement goes. If you don’t pick one, it appears in the channel where the member just spoke.
- Level-up message
- The announcement text, written by you. {user} inserts the member’s name, {level} their new level.
- Keep previous tier roles
- On, members keep every role they’ve unlocked. Off, they only keep the highest tier role and the others are removed.
- Tiers
- One row per tier: the level to reach and the role it unlocks. A cross removes the row.
- No-XP channels
- Channels where chatting earns nothing. Handy for a spam or meme channel.
- No-XP roles
- Members with any of these roles never earn XP. Useful for your bots or your staff.
What your members see
/rankMembers see their level, total XP, server rank and how much they need for the next level. They can also look up another member’s card.
/leaderboardThe top 10 members with the most XP. It’s called /classement when Discord is set to French.
Good to know
Tier roles are given at the moment of a level-up. If you add a tier below the level of your existing members, they’ll get it at their next level-up, not right away.
With “Keep previous tier roles” off, the bot really removes the roles from earlier tiers. Turn it on if you want them to stack.
XP is only earned by writing. Time spent in voice doesn’t count, and bots never earn any.
